Hervé Joyaux Fabre, a former Bordeaux wine dealer, was completely fascinated by a Malbec he tried in 1992 on the outskirts of Mendoza. He and his childhood friend bought the Mendoza estate because they had vision, and they went on to successfully produce wine that won awards. Hervé and his wife Diane travelled to Cahors, France, the birthplace of malbec, in 2015. They were astounded by the variety of its terroirs and how much Malbec had grown and changed over time.
Hervé and Diane quickly came to the conclusion that they had to make an investment in Cahors, and in 2017 they acquired the Vignobles Saint Didier Parnac, which is located on the stunning limestone plateau of Les Causses. They accomplished this together with friends and collaborators.
Hervé has a strong minimal interventionist philosophy and thinks wine should be a reflection of the fruit and the vineyard.
He has received numerous honours, including 2018's IWC Red Winemaker of the Year.
