Buy Villa Sparina Gavi wines from Great Wines Direct
The story of Villa Sparina began in the 18th century, when part of the structure we see today was infact a farming estate, built by the Marquis Franzoni of Genova.
Villa Sparina is located in Gavi, Piedmont, with 100 hectares of land, 70 of which are planted with native grapes used to produce Gavi and Barbera. One of the greatest exposed locations for Cortese vine cultivation is Monterotondo, where the vineyards are nestled amid the hills.
They wanted a bottle for their wines that had a distinctive form since they wanted to stand out for their image as well.
Together, the designer Giacomo Bersanetti and the innovation project team created the bottle that we know today. During the rehabilitation excavations of the Gavi winery, an old vase was discovered that served as inspiration for the design.
The redesigned Villa Sparina bottle has an iconic silhouette and is a fitting steward of the wines that are made. A bottle that looks to the future, evokes the past, and brings experiences to life. It is more than just a straightforward wine bottle, it's a kind of handing of the mantle.
