Javier Alén founded the Vina Mein winery in 1988 in order to highlight the best of traditional Galician white wine. This is a winery that embraces Galician winemaking traditions by using all of the traditional grape types (such as Treixadura, Godello, Loureira, Torrontés, Albario, Lado, and Albilla), while also employing modern winemaking processes to produce superbly balanced, fresh white wines.

Javier's wine blends are now based on the local grape varietals, Treixadura.

Vina Mein winery now employs up to 16 hectares of vineyard and ages its wines in stainless steel vats and 500-litre oak barrels.
