The wine has a deep, almost opaque red colour and a nose of violets, cassis and black cherries On the palate the Xisto is remarkably elegant with a classic balance of fine ripe tannins and intense mouth filling fruit Although delicious now, Xisto will age well for the next 10 to 15 years

From the clay and limestone soils of the high plateau of Pedrosa in the Ribera del Duero, this aromatic Tinto Fino (aka Tempranillo) wine is richly concentrated with mulberry and black cherry fruit aromas and flavours The wine includes 10% of Cabernet Sauvignon and has spent 18 months in French oak and was bottled unfiltered The nose has a fine complexity with tones of ripened fruit such as cherry, cassis and plum all harmonised by the wood and spice character (vanilla and cocoa) with undercurrents of liquorice The palate displays great balance with glossy, mature tannins and elegant fruit character that echoes the nose The finish is long and elegant

6 puttonyos are only made in exceptional vintages and from 1st Class Growths vineyards It is typically a more intense, complex, noble and sweeter style than 5 puttonyos The Tokaji Aszu Patricius 6-Puttonyos has a dense exotic and spicy bouquet with apricot jam and marmalade notes The palate is medium-bodied with a fresh, vibrant marmalade and quince entry and honeyed finish It feels long in the mouth with a hint of spice This is drinking beautifully

El Tiznado comes from a south-west facing vineyard planted in 1923 with closely-spaced Tempranillo vines showing great genetic diversity thanks to the 'massale' selection originally employed The shallow sandy soil originated from the weathering of calcareous sandstone, and there is notable presence of iron oxides Cuentavinas was founded by Eduardo Eguren and Carlota Gonzalez: fifth generation of the illustrious Eguren family, pre-eminent name in the wine world, which has accrued savoir-faire over the decades through such prestigious projects as Sierra Cantabria, Vinedos de Paganos and Teso la Monja Eduardo felt the need to remain near San Vicente de la Sonsierra, town of his fathers, so with the characteristic patience required for anything that needs to be developed slowly, he and Carlota went on innumerable sorties to scour the local districts at the foot of El Tolono (mountain) to seek something that would fill them with enthusiasm In the miniscule village of Pecina, they found the essence of what they were searching for Like a journey to a wonderful old tale, its few streets preserve the essence of the past, with restored wine presses and and few, but beautiful, ancient stone houses They also found the perfect link to the family's history, since Edu's maternal grandfather was nicknamed 'el pecinero' It is not clear if they chose the place, or the place chose them

Bright pale gold in colour with flashes of lime green, this wine is fresh, crisp and aromatic on the nose, boasting delicious gooseberry, melon and pineapple aromas It is medium bodied and juicy, packed with fresh ripe melon and guava fruits and hints of bell pepper with a crisp, refreshing finish which is bone dry
