After tasting tens of thousands of Burgundy wines over the course of fifteen vintages and becoming fascinated by the distinctive personalities of the vineyards, each with its own terroir, Sarah Marsh MW made the decision to start her own terroir-driven project.

Sarah Marsh works closely with domaines she is familiar with, where the vineyard has been meticulously cared for and where the soils are healthy and 'living', in order to vinify grapes from a lieu-dit or specific area of a vineyard that, for whatever reason, whether it the soil or the vine age, may stand alone.

It is an unusual strategy to purchase from domaines that typically do not sell their priceless fruit, but those winemakers made an exception to assist Sarah Marsh's terroir project, and the astonishing results speak for themselves.
